Gary has always had a strong interest in understanding and releasing the effects of anxiety and stress to clear the way for a more fulfilling life experience. After a long career in the building and horticultural industries he decided to follow these interests onto the path of serious study and is now a qualified Counsellor and Hypnotherapist who uses a wide range of skills including Hypnotherapy, Clean Language, Human Givens, Mindfulness and EFT to help his clients experience their personal power to choose the way they respond to life situations.
So many times in life we can find ourselves reacting to events in the same old ways and achieving the same old results. It comes as a surprise to many to realise that we often surrender control of our behaviour to non-conscious programming that was put in place in the distant past, often when we were children. This leads to the important question, ”when faced with challenging situations do we really want to take the advice of our younger self, who was at best muddling through with limited information and resources?” This old programming can lead to behaviours that are out of character with our more mature and developed selves and leave us wondering why we act as we do as we try to pick up the pieces, all the while rationalising away our emotional reactions.

The first step towards changing is to notice what is happening and then ask this question “How is this working for me?” Simply realising that there could be a better way is the first step on the road to better things.
